Twilight And Diamond Nails
Last month I happened to see this little set at my TKMaxx (always a good green beauty bargain to be found there!) – including two beautiful blue shades from Mavala. I’m still a relative newbie with ‘greener’ nail polishes, I’m not sure why I always seem to forget to keep a look out for some pretty polishes when browsing online so I was keen to give this cute duo a go!
I formed some kind of love for Mavala polishes after finding another of their sets, a trio of neutral shades which I couldn’t stop wearing for several weeks. Sadly, they have let me down a little with this set. The colours are very lovely, Twilight Blue (313) is a strange tone that I haven’t seen before and have never tried – a sort of deep indigo-blue verging on grey. After applying two coats, the colour is a nice opaque dark blue, a perfect nail look for winter!
The shimmery glitter polish, Violet Diamond (214) is so adorable, and compliments the Twilight Blue shade so well! I wore it over one coat of Twilight Blue on my ring fingers to add some glam to the look.
Unfortunately the chipping with Twilight Blue is really bad. It didn’t even last through a day – I tried wearing it both at work (lots of typing) and at home (both on days I wasn’t doing much, and days of housework). I think it must be the formula of the colour which is a real shame because it’s so nice! I was so excited to find a dark rich colour for winter that complimented my super pale skin. Nevertheless, I am going to still keep it in my collection and persist with wearing these twilight and diamond nails, as I am slightly in love with the colours, even though I’ll probably have to remove and reapply the next day.
I don’t think I would buy this at full price (RRP £9.25) but not too dismayed I only paid £6 at TKMaxx. I’m hoping perhaps a good topcoat may solve the chipping, and that other shades from Mavala will have the same awesome formula as the last trio I bought!
Has anyone else tried some good shades from Mavala?
