Honeypie Minerals Mini Haul
On the hunt for a new matte contouring powder I came across this UK London-based brand, Honeypie Minerals. I had searched a few online green beauty stores but couldn’t really find what I was looking for at a price I could afford, as I wanted a matte powder to replace my ex-love Bare Minerals ‘Warmth’ contouring loose powder. After learning about bismuth oxychloride, I realised that this compound may be one of the triggers for my terrible acne that broke out and just couldn’t budge from my face! Luckily though, Honeypie Minerals do not contain bismuth oxychloride, talc, alcohol, parabens or any other synthetic or harsh chemicals.
For contour, I was debating with myself if I wanted to buy the Sunkissed Bronzer or a dark foundation. Looking at the colour on the screen, I decided that the Sunkissed Bronzer might be too light when compared with the deep terracotta shade of my Bare Minerals powder I wanted to replace. I have very *very* pale skin but I like to use quite a medium-dark powder to try my best to define my cheekbones hidden under my round squishy face 😉 I also wanted a cool dark tone which is why I opted for the Dark Foundation with neutral undertones rather than the Rich Dark or Golden Dark shades (both with warmer undertones which wouldn’t flatter some of the redness in my skin). The Sunkissed Bronzer is also on my wish list for a future purchase!
Whilst I was on the website, I could not buy a contour powder without stopping by the blushers. For a small independent British company, Honeypie Minerals have a lovely range of shades to pick from (all carmine free yay!) and I must say it took me a considerable amount of time to choose just one (so tempting to purchase a few for my collection) – in the end I picked the gorgeous matte Pink Rose Blush which is middle in the colour range between the lightest and deepest shades.
Lastly I also bought a concealer – Honeypie Minerals’ Green Corrector, something I have never tried before. I have always had some redness near the jawline on both my cheeks which I have never been able to permanently ‘fix’ so after a little colour-correcting research, decided this concealer might be a good make-up trick. It works reasonably well to balance my skin tone though I noticed it does wear off fairly quickly through the day – this can easily be resolved by keeping in your bag to top-up but I’m lazy so I don’t 😛
The ingredients in the Dark Foundation, Pink Rose Blush and Green Corrector are all the same; Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Zinc Oxide (CI77497). May contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007)
Very happy with all the products in my mini haul and Honeypie Minerals is definitely a brand I will be purchasing from again!
