Green People Tinted DD Moisturiser

Hands up pale girls who have the problem with finding an ivory foundation that is actually anywhere close to the colour of white ivory!?? I bring forth good news – the hunt is over, there is a brand that have created a tinted moisturiser that (hold your breath) isn’t orange. It’s hard to believe, I know, but finally the Snow Whites out there can use a product that doesn’t need to be mixed with anything else to make it match our porcelain skin. As if this couldn’t be amazing enough, it also helps prevent wrinkles… Mind blown. Could it be true? Read my review to see my thoughts…

Application & Coverage

One of the main things I noticed about the Green People Tinted DD Moisturiser* is how creamy and smooth the texture is. I’ve tried tinted moisturisers in the past that have disappointed me with a watery consistency. This one isn’t too thick or too thin. The coverage is described as sheer on the bottle though it does seem to be fairly buildable. If you like to go for a natural yet glowy look, you will definitely love this. Usually I don’t like to use liquid products as I don’t like feeling that my pores are being blocked and many seem to stick to any dry patches I have. Thankfully the Green People Tinted DD Moisturiser doesn’t do this too much though I am careful to apply a generous amount of moisturiser on my forehead and nose to prevent this happening. What’s good too is how little you need to use to see mild redness and small blemishes covered.

The Swatch – Perfect for Pale Skin

I’m so glad brands like Green People are listening to their customers and creating shades that us ladies want! I remember the struggle even when I used non-green products, searching high and low in Boots for foundation that actually matched my skin tone. Especially in the winter when I’m at my palest, this has been the best base ever when I want to look a little more polished. Compared to Madara Moonflower Rose Beige, the colour it is even paler and the coverage less sheer. I definitely prefer this shade over the Funny Bee and Lavera BB Cream samples I tested too.

As I’m hurtling quite rapidly toward my 26th birthday (heart palpitations and a cold sweat usually follow at the thought) I’m now actually paying attention to all these anti-ageing skincare creams and lotions on the green beauty market. Even though I look like I’m 16 (thank you mamma!) I’m still thinking about those fine lines I may expect sooner than I’d appreciate. Making it simple to incorporate anti-ageing preparations into my daily routine, Green People have formulated their DD (that’s Daily Defense by the way) Moisturiser to include some kick-ass skin benefits:

  • Natural SPF 15 (from titanium dioxide) – defends against harmful UVA and UVB rays
  • Sea fennel stem cells – stimulate cell renewal. According to the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2008) sea fennel has free-radical scavenging, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.
  • Squalene (derived from plants) – potentially anti-carcinogenic and helps to protect skin as suggested by the Alternative Medicine Review (1999)
  • Bidens Pilosa extract – anti-inflammatory and antiviral as noted by the Institute of Traditional Medicine

Green People Tinted DD Moisturiser is certified organic, vegan and Vegetarian Society approved.

Final Verdict – AMAZE

While it’s not cheap at £36 for 30ml, it is a very good organic tinted moisturiser with decent coverage. I’d recommend it especially for those who are acne prone as it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin at all and allows you to add coverage without compromising on aggravating acne. It’s available from Green People direct and is a staple I think I will be using all year around.

Has anyone else tried this DD Cream? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know 🙂

  • I love their original one but now that they make it in the lighter shade I think I’ll pick that one up when I re-purchase…seems like a much better shade for all year round for me seeing as I don’t get that much sun in the Summer anyway hah!

    • Haha yeh I don’t even tan! & if I want to look a little less like a ghost I whip out the bronzer 😀 Let me know how the shades compare when you try it, I’d be interested to see the difference! X
