Green People Talc-Free Make-Up

Green People Talc Free Collection

Green People Talc-Free Make-Up

So the other week I wrote about how I was little impressed with Green People’s Gold Shimmer Bronzer (despite it being quite pretty) due to the ingredients list including talc. I found this a bit naughty, considering their claims that their make-up products contain no harsh additives. In response Green People kindly sent me a few of their products from their new range (OK so I think these have been available for a little while so I’m a bit late to the game!) of talc-free make-up with new design packaging. Here are my first impressions…

Green People talc-free make-up

Pressed Powder

I was sent the Pressed Powder in both the shades Honey Light* (the lighter shade as pictured above) and Caramel Medium*. The shade Honey Light matches my trusted Lily Lolo loose mineral powder in Blondie perfectly, so it is just a touch darker than the lightest shade Green People have available which is Porcelain Pale. The more tanned colour Caramel Medium was sent to me as a contour powder to replace my Gold Shimmer Bronzer. The packaging is much better and so slim – a big improvement from the previous clunky plastic design. I have given this powder a little test but a full review will be coming up soon!

Ingredients

Mica (natural mineral), Zea mais (corn) starch*, Octyldodecanol (plant derived), Caprylic/Capric Tryglyceride (natural emulsifier), Zinc oxide (natural mineral), Zinc stearate (mineral binder), Glyceryl caprylate (natural emulsifier), P-Anisic acid, Cinnamic acid, Cera alba (bees wax)*. May contain: CI 77891, CI77491, CI77492, CI 77499 (mineral pigments). *Ingredients from organic farming. ECOCERT 100% natural ingredients; 11.6% organic ingredients

Woop woop, no talc!!

Eye Duo

The swatch above shows the lovely pigmentation of this Eye Duo in Night Forest* which includes the two shades Tawny Owl Taupe (slightly olive toned taupe) and Mink Brown ( a slightly bronzy brown). I can’t seem to find this particular duo on the Green People website any more but they still stock their other shades City Sky (slate grey and hazy beige), Royal Tea (peacock teal and fondant pink) and Illuminating (pearl and satin pink) Eye Duo. I have yet to try this cute little pair of eyeshadows out, but the neutral tones are exactly my type of shades so I am excited to wear soon! I’ll be sure to share an eye look using this duo when I have had a little play around with it.

Volumising Mascara

Looking at the mascara brush, I knew this one would be good… I always seem to trust a mascara that comes in a fairly decent sized tube. I have tried this Volumising Mascara* a couple of times now and it is definitely volumising as it promises and I love that it separates the lashes really well. I received mine in black however they also have it in brown-black (probably a shade I am going to have to buy too!). Look out for a full review on this mascara to follow 🙂

The Verdict – LOVE!

I am so happy that Green People re-formulated their make-up and re-designed the packaging as the changes have definitely been improvements which also bring them closer to their tag-line ‘Beauty Without Artifice’. I think it’s quite fitting for any brand in eco-beauty or green beauty to have recyclable packaging so I was pleased to see less plastic! Thank you Green People for listening to your customers and taking our opinion into serious consideration with your research and development. It’s good to see a company that care about their ethics 😀

These products look gorgeous! I recently bought the Porcelain powder, but I think after reading your post, the Honey Light one would better for my skin – I thought it was much darker than that! Great post – I love Green People. You must try their shampoos and conditioners (if you haven’t already!). xx

    • Thank you Kate! Yes, it took me ages to decide between Porcelain Pale and Honey Light, but Honey Light is exactly the shade I was after 🙂 Oh yes I have yet to try their shampoo and conditioner! A lot of their products are so good, I also really like their sunscreen which I can’t wait to use soon when it gets warmer 🙂 Hope you’re having a lovely Easter x x

Sorry, I’m late to the discussion! however if you contact greenpeople they can send you samples of the foundations. They come in small sample pots of loose powder rather than pressed tho x

  • I wish they still had the Eye Duo in Night Forest. I really like the neutral color combination.

    • Hey Megan – I know right! I was surprised they decided to keep the other eyeshadow shades but discontinue Night Forest. I thought most people would quite like taupey-neutral-brown shades :/
