DIY Mango and Coconut Body Lotion Bars
This weekend I’ve been whipping up some DIY beauty treats with my momma! We used up some homemade body lotion bars I made a few weeks ago (these lavender ones) so we decided to try a different mix of oils to add to the recipe for something with a more summertime vibe. What could be more delicious than some tropical inspired mango and coconut body lotion bars 🙂
The recipe is so simple and very easy to make, this is what you will need;
- 1 cup mango butter
- 1 cup cocoa butter
- 1/2 cup organic cold pressed coconut oil
- 10 drops lime essential oil
- 10 drops neroli essential oil
Melt the mango butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil in a glass bowl over a pan of boiling water (make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Take off the heat and leave to cool slightly before adding the essential oils, I decided to use lime and neroli but you could use any that you like. If you have sensitive skin you could leave these out. Pour the mixture into your moulds – I used this super cute flower silicon mould with pretty detailing – and pop into the ice-cube tray in your freezer. They only need about 10-15 minutes before they are set and ready to use!
Let me know if you have a go at this recipe, I’m getting excited to create more tropical DIYs ready for summer 😀 – tweet me if there are any recipes you might like me to try!
