DIY Rose Toner & Make-up Setting Spray

Natural toxic-free rose spray

I’m very excited to share a post about my favourite homemade product which I use excessively everyday. It’s an easy, all-natural, chemical-free way to incorporate the goodness of roses into your skincare routine.

As someone that likes quick ways to get ready in the morning and at night (I’m always in a rush in the morning and desperate to get to bed at night!) I like a skincare routine with as few steps as possible and products that don’t require much fuss. I decided to create this multi-purpose spray which is perfect for using as a prepping facial toner and primer before make-up, spraying lightly over your face to set your make-up for the day, or before bed as a refreshing cooling face mist.

Let’s do this

  1. Fill a glass spray bottle with organic rose otto water
  2. Add 2-3 drops of organic rosehip oil for 50ml of rose hydrosol
  3. Add 1-2 drops of vegetable glycerin (this makes the spray leaving your skin feeling soft if you don’t want to use rosehip oil)
  4. Add 5-10 drops of rose damask essential oil
  5. Add 5-10 drops of jasmine essential oil
  6. Put the spray top on the bottle and shake it up….
  7. You’re ready to go!

And if you want to, you can play with the ratio of rose hydrosol, essential oils and rosehip oil to get the consistency and concentration you desire. The jasmine oil in the spray not only adds to the therapeutic and calming effects due to its aroma (excellent for the relief of stress and anti-anxiety), but it also known for its antiseptic and astringent properties which are beneficial for preventing and treating acne, and relieving stressed skin.

I personally have trouble with anxiety sometimes, I like to carry a separate mix of oils for that when I’m out or at work, but when I’m at home I will just mist this onto my face for a little comfort that comes from the aromatherapy aspect of the oils in the spray.

And it’s that simple! More floral sprays and oil blends to follow soon 🙂
