Bellàpierre Everyday Shimmer Kit
A beautiful eyeshadow set from Bellàpierre, I bought this in the ‘Pretty Woman’ range – which includes three neutral shades, as I decided it would be the most versatile for creating both daytime and evening looks. I managed to grab this in TKMaxx for £9.99 (RRP £39.99) which was a bargain! Online I have noticed them in the sale for as low as £25 so if you can find them in TKMaxx, get one if you can!
What the Kit Includes
One of the first things that struck me about the kit, is how it really includes everything you would need from an eyeshadow set. And for a tenner, you really get a lot! Included in the set are three shimmer powders (2.35g each), a ‘makeup base’ eyeshadow primer (8.5g), an eyeshadow brush and an eyeliner brush.
The brushes are both 100% synthetic and are good-quality and well-made. The eyeshadow brush is quite dense, packing the eyeshadow on well, and isn’t too floppy as I have found with other brands such as Lily Lolo. The eyeliner angled brush is also very nice, and dense enough to easily glide on eyeliner.
The makeup base is a light shade that almost melts into the skin to a translucent tone. The shimmer pots are just gorgeous with a nice trio of complimentary shades to use as a highlighter (Champagne), middle-gold tone (Earth), and definer-shade (Cocoa).
Texture & Application
I used this set for my Champagne and Raspberry Makeup Look in my previous post and found the products so lovely to use, and looked really pretty. The texture of the makeup base is almost like a balm which I haven’t come across before, but I thought was quite nice. I didn’t own a natural eyeshadow primer before purchasing this set, so I was very excited to try this in comparison with my ex-love, Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. After wearing for a couple of hours, it sadly didn’t have the lasting power of Urban Decay – and actually didn’t last through 45 minutes. I am willing however to keep trying to work with this product and perhaps use a little more next time.
The shimmer eyeshadows are so beautiful! They are sparkly and very pretty as with most shimmer mineral powders. The shades are very reminiscent of Urban Decay’s Naked Palette – Bellàpierre Champagne is a good dupe for UD Virgin, Earth is fairly similar to UD Half-Baked, and Cocoa is a good dupe for UD Hustle.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Magnesium Carbonate, Kaolin, Candelilla Cera (Candelilla wax), Copernicia Cerifera Cera (Carnauba Wax), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin A), (+/- Mica CI 77091), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI77499)
Mica CI77019, Titanium Dioxide CI77891, May Contain: Iron Oxides (+/- CI 77491, CI 77492, CI77499)
The pack stated that the shimmers are “made with 100% natural pigments” with no dyes, fillers, additives or preservatives – and for once they were correct! The makeup base also does not contain any harsh or nasty chemicals, which is awesome! Hurrah 🙂
The verdict: love
I really like this set I picked up, and it is definitely excellent value for money. I think even at £25 this is still quite a good buy, as you get the primer, shimmers and brushes – this could easily cost a lot more if bought individually. I highly recommend a browse in your local TKMaxx though, as this must be the best bargain I have picked up for quite a few months!! Love how versatile the colours are and super happy to have found a few dupes for my Urban Decay Naked Palette 😀
Tweet me or comment if you have tried this set too, and if maybe the other colour kits are as good? I spotted the purple set whilst picking this one up and now regretting not buying too.
